Brake pad alternatives

The prices for brake pads at the dealer are pretty expensive. The few aftermarket options I found were priced even higher. Does anyone know where to get a cheaper set of brake pads? If the calipers for this car cross reference from another model, the model and year would be helpful as well. Thanks.

For around the street if you have dedicated track pads to switch to, I think almost anything would work. I have some brand I purchased from pepboys or Amazon and they work totally fine around town. For track pads I have the stock rears and G10 pads in front. I still have them on after a track day and they are super noisy.
Thanks for the tip for the G12 pads I will try those. The G10 pads were fine at Sears Point; faster track with more time to cool before heavy braking. The G10s overheat at Laguna Secca; tends to be the track in my area that is toughest on breaking. Attention GLoc you forgot to drill the holes for the little wire springs that come with the stock and aftermarket pads.

If you want great break pads and no dust, I highly recommend using the Power Stop Z26-2211 Performance Carbon Ceramic pads for the VN. I absolutely love these pads and I have zero issues with them. You can get them on amazon for a good price. I really recommend them and I would only buy these pads.

I actually did the power stops and resurfaced the discs as they were still good. My service technician uses the same pads on his car and recommended them to me.
I’ve been using them for a few weeks daily and they are amazingly clean and reliable. I’ll only use these pads now. I didn’t change the rears as they didn’t need to be changed. You can see the difference on the wheels between washes.
Im very happy with these pads.

I’m looking at the R1s myself. I have done several auto crosses and just a couple of track days and love the oem brakes feel and balance. How does the R1 setup compare? They’re available on RockAuto also, and cheaper than oem. LMK
Thanx-Win👍

It's a night and day difference with exact setup I have. It has a better bite and way less break dust. I don't feel as much heat coming from the wheels after a long drive from the drill and slotted pattern. I will be picking up a second set for black Friday incase I can't find the down the road.
