I just want more woooosh! I am also skeptical I would be able to notice the1-14HP gains advertised between brands

I've narrowed down a few candidates from my sleuthing but am looking for some more sound-focused reviews prior to pulling the trigger.
  1. Pipercross PX1999 (or similar) drop-in filter <$100 in factory airbox. I've seen some people run this without the factory airbox lid. That lid keeps the stock filter in place, which makes me wonder if their filters stay in place.
  2. AFE Momentum $330 bft. I'd probably take out the plug on the side when wanting to run it loud. They also have their cheaper Takeda Stage 2 intake for $50 less currently. That version seals onto the hood, which I think would make it pretty quiet.
  3. AEM Intake Also $330ish.

Sorry for digging up a old topic but does anyone know how the takeda stage 2 compare to the AEM intake?
Those are very close in comparison.
the AFE stage 2 with the dry filter claims 9 hp and 8 ft lbs.
AEM claims 10 hp and 14 ft lbs ( http://kandn.com/dynocharts/AEM-21-873_dyno.pdf )
AFE stage 2 w/ Pro 5r filter claims 11HP and 10 ft Lbs
As for power these are pretty close where the other variables could make them even. The AEM is powder coated aluminum which is decent on fighting off heat but if you live somewhere like CA where it was over 100 degrees all of summer, then it might have some heat issues after a long hot drive.
If you want sound then you want AEM hands down. people get the AEM just for the sound alone.
but when it comes down to it you will probably be happy with either of them since they are pretty much the same price

There was one post I read that said some guy got 20 degs better temps with the AFE vs the AEM can't seem to find the post now but it also mentions a lot less noise. Also I don't have a N I just have a DCT 2019 Turbo >.< Just so little info around about this kind of stuff for the normal VT.

EDIT: I live in PA but I am planning to track next year
EDIT 2: planning to get a tune sometime later down the line so looking for which one will help more then as well as sound
