When I went to pick up my N there was a white Elantra GT N-Line in the showroom.

Man that is a sharp looking car! Love the red seat belts, stitching and accents. Ton's of space inside and really nice body lines. If that had the punch that the Veloster N did I would have opted for it instead for sure. Hyundai, why you know i30N/Elantra GT N in North America?!

This is amazing!

Well I bought it... does that count?

and seeing as it is winter here and I am not putting winter tyres on her I am having it flat-bedded over to to a shop for a full body wrap.

Apart from protecting the paint I think that British Racing Green will look very good on her.

Pictures to follow when finished

Gerald! Will certainly be looking forward to seeing the new Brit Green. Full body wrap sounds like a big job!

I bought one!

I traded in my '16 Veloster Turbo CVT for the N with 275hp performance package today. What a difference from the old one, but I am going to miss some options ... no Nav, no heated seats, no new HUD or safety stuff that's on the '19 Turbo ... But on the plus side, I am smiling while driving a little more HAHA The suspension is like night and day! The ECON mode is great to drive along pothole infested highways with nary a jolt. I haven't had a manual trans in a long time, but this is pretty nice. I had a 2003 Boxster S and it's as good as that was. The only real minus was that it was nearly list price - and I'm sure to take a bit hit as soon as the 8 speed CVT comes out in the fall.

No CVT! A CVT is a (Constant Velocity Trans) and they're junk and Honda uses them. I thing you mean DCT. There's no hard evidence there will be a DCT available. This has already been hashed out several time. Do a search and you'll see the results. Hyundai has said nothing unofficially or officially. Most if not all the information is speculation and rumors, nothing concrete.

That's just rumor and speculation. There is no announcement or media with actual proof Hyundai is actually producing one for the Veloster N are. The Kona N will have an uprated DCT for the Theta 2.0T 250 hp model. But there is nothing but speculation and rumor as to the Veloster N getting a DCT anytime soon. Even the i30N in overseas is a manual. Hyundai doesn't have a robust enough unit to handle the horsepower output.

I have literally seen an interview with Albert Bierman stating they are developing a DCT version with intent to release for the 2020 model year. He was not specific as to what regional market though.

I would call the chief design engineer saying it pretty good evidence. I will have a look when I get home and find the interview.

It might, as long as Hyundai Corporate approves. Hasn't happened, as the N Division doesn't have a dedicated engine or powertrain division. It's easy to prove just post the link/s.

Where are the official Hyundai links, saying it's happening?

2019 Hyundai Veloster N First Drive Review: This Ain't No One Trick Pony "While the lesser models offer a DCT, the manual is currently the only option on the N. Hyundai says a DCT is coming, but not to expect it for a few years." . A few years is two or more. We'll see, Hyundai has changed their mind on specifications time and time again.

Where, here is the entire interview? Nothing was said about the DCT.

Not here either!

Here at 3:04 but nothing from Bierman directly. Again, speculation from Tom Voelk

If this is the proof you offer, then it still remains to be seen. In the auto world two year is a considerable length of time and things do change over the years. Allot has to do with how the N will be accepted, in it's largest market, the US. Right now, the DCT used in the Veloster R-Spec and Turbo, isn't near robust enough to handle the power output of the N standard or PP. It will require a joint effort from Hyundais Engine/Powertrain Divisions and the N division, to produce one that can work with the Limited Slip differential and handle the current horsepower output.

The Kona N which is due out in 2020, will have a DCT, but is likely to share it with the i30N and only the standard version as the PP will remain manual. Some, are predicting it will be a wet clutch assembly, not a dry clutch pack that is now offered in the Veloster and Kona. The Kona N will be capped at the 2.0T Theta 275 engine and will have the Limited Slop Differential. However, this is also speculation and remains to be seen. No official word, as of now from Hyundai or Hyundai N Division.

Where are you getting your information on the Kona N?

They have already confirmed the DCT in the i30N for a late 2019 arrival. It is not the same or a rework of the one previously used in the veloster as the new one is an 8 speed not a 7 speed. So it's all new, already been in development and already planned to be fitted to the exact same drivetrain that the VN has 🤔. Time will tell I guess.

The i30N is specifically made for the oversea market and not available in the US. However, the Elantra 5 door is the US version and is now available in Sport/GT trim, with both a 1.6T Gamma and 2.0 Theta engines. We'll just have to wait patiently for and improved model for the US.😉

@Velocitas_Eradico; Oh, hi David Joseph Torello . I see your lurking around this forum, without even owning a Veloster. You're treading thin ice bud. Your other "name," has been banned from the other forum and nearly at the other one also. They're watching you quite carefully. They have enough information as of now, to ban your IP address/s permanently. You might want to re-think being here.😉

I just bought my VN 2 days ago and have just been driving it to break it in! I took the dealer installed front plate off. I'm a lil bummed about the 3 holes in the front grill but nobody will ever notice it unless I pointed it out.

The car is amazing. As soon as I drove I was just blown away. This is not a normal Hyundai. I am so happy to give up a lot of the extra features and creature comforts for this engine, transmission, exhaust, brakes, and e-LSD. I could go on and on about everything that I love so far.

I gotta keep racking up the miles before I give my full opinion though!

Don't know what the forum rules are but here's a link to imgur with a few pics!

Received the felt Door Kick Protection and center console, (black) neoprene cover. Installed the cover and the black arm buddy, elbow pads for the doors and center console. 3M Clear Bra has been installed, $1500 worth and full protection. WeatherTech trunk mat with roll out tail gate cover installed. Next is to install the rear cargo net. Most everything in the way of accessories is coming from the Hyundai Shop. Ordered WeatherTech Full Sunscreens fro all windows.

Install tomorrow of the Power Pedal. Waiting to install the DTUK Piggyback ECU until I have it broken-in and dyno sessions scheduled. Next up Garage Line BOV. I'll post photos of everything this week once they are completed.

Blessings and Peace

Nothing! I sprained my ankle on Sunday playing pick-up soccer and I'm so bummed I haven't been able to drive!

I did get my car back from the dealer on Monday after leaving it there over the weekend due to a QA issue from the factory. Somebody didn't plug in the radiator fan so my car overheated while I was idling in traffic!

Oh man! It has a good warranty and a limp mode so I doubt you harmed the motor. If it did, it's on them!!

The 2019 TurboXS Veloster N Hybrid Blow Off Valve is newly designed valve for the Veloster N. Specifically designed inlets and outlet to fit in the compact footprint on the Veloster N. The valves are hybrid design to recirculates some of the air flow back to the intake and a portion out to atmosphere.

I'm concerned with the possibility of the OEM internal BOV developing diaphragm failure, with the addition of a Tuner, when I get round to it. Both tuners from RaceChips and DTUK raise boost to over 25+ psi. OEM Boost is set at max over boost @21 psi.

I would love to do the spacers, but worried about rocks and debris hitting the paint and not the wheel well. The way I'm looking at the car is like this. Albert Biermann designed this car, and tuned this car for the performance it has now with the existing parts it has now. When you go and start changing things out or adding things you start messing with the way the car was designed. Anything I do has to compliment what Albert Biermann was trying to do with this car. Not sure how much more performance you will get with the spacers though. A wider stance should help with stability, but will the computer and the active dampening system adjust for that? These are the questions I have. But will definitely be adding some upgraded performance parts very soon.

Yes, I did it, with an eBay kit even. PM me if you have any questions or problems.

They are fine, it's a pain in the ass though because LED's have to be put in the right way. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES think you can do it without pulling the fuse. You cannot. Pulling the fuse is VERY easy.
So for example (the most painful example) if you are doing the mirror lights on the passenger side. Open fuse box under drivers seat and pull the 7.5A light fuse (read the diagram on the fuse box cover to see which one). walk around and sit in passenger seat. Use trim tool and pry off light fixture, pull out the light, put in the LED(Carefully, its an insanely tight fit and I broke one, the eBay seller sent me a replacement, do these last as they are the least used lights). Get out of the car, walk back around to drivers side. Replace 7.5A fuse. Light doesn't come on. Pull fuse back out. Go back around to passenger side. Pull light out, flip around and try to squeeze it back in, probably break it but if you don't replace light fixture back into roof. Go back to drivers side. Put in fuse. Light turns on. Congratulations, you have now done 1/6 lights.

The map lights are super easy... the dome light also once you realize how to pop out the cover. The mirror lights are a HUGE pain in the ass(because of the fragility of the LED's). The trunk light can be pulled out completely which is what I would recommend as it will be easier to take it apart at your desk and then reconnect it. The license plate lights were REALLY easy by comparison.

The car is MUCH brighter in the dark. However you should definitely know that the starker shadows of the white LED's are very unflattering to a... uh... backseat...... "driving partner"

I decided against running 19" Ultra Max Super Summer tires in the winter even though Atlanta has (mostly) a mild winter climate. Still, if last winter was any indication, we'll have at least 3 weeks of at or below freezing temps, which is definitely a no-go for me. I also decided to go with 18" wheels to add a bit more cushion with taller wheels. AND... I wanted wheels to be close to the same design as the stock 19s.

Here's what I came up with: 18x8 Rial Lucca (+50mm) shod with Mich A/S 3+ 225/40. I personally think they look better than the stock PP 19s (though the 19" version, I think, would "fit" the wheel-well better). It was an easy swap; no TPMS tool needed (took it for a short drive and the pressures showed on the screen after about 3 miles).

I had the A/S 3+ tires on the Genesis Coupe (twice, actually), and was extremely impressed with their performance. I'm sure I'll be just as happy with these. AND! Now I have some scrubbed tires for the track!

Edit: For those curious, the 19" PP wheels with tires weighed (on my scale) 53.4 lbs. The Rials with tires came in at 49.6 lbs.
