Absolutely, I have QuickJacks but occasionally I’d like to work from a standing position.👍🇺🇸

Got bored and decided to copy off @Beatmechanic and make a rear trunk brace. I ordered some end caps and plugs to make it look better, but they haven't come in yet.

Performance blue Billetworkz short teardrop shift knob. And vinylmod black emblem overlays.

I like the ball shift knob way more, but I hate the height that it adds. The short teardrop fits the reverse lockout inside. Whichever I prefer after a while, I'll keep. After I decide, I'll likely sell the other.

Nice to see vinylmod still hasn't fixed their N pattern
How so? I like it. Just enough chrome visible to set it off. If I wanted solid black, I could've painted it or just bought a black emblem. But I like the way they turned out. (front and back)

bottom of the N - there's a section that goes to the edge.

It's just silly because they obv scanned the emblem and did a great job on everything except that part. I know someone who complained to VM a few months after I got mine and figured they fixed it.
I just couldn't deal with the ergonomics of the short teardrop. I went back to the ball. Even with the gap. I guess I'll live with it.

What's the button for?

I'm really bummed about it because I got a little too impatient and didn't step the drill bits. I used one that was too big first. That's why the hole is a little off.

Why won't it thread down lower? Is the bottom of the knob not counter bored for the reverse ring? This is why I went with a custom knob, so it could sit down as low as possible. You might be able to get someone to machine clearance in the bottom of the knob, like this:

Yes, that sounds about right. The hole in the ball is not large enough for the reverse lockout adapter to fit up inside. If I was to go it machined bigger, it would throw off the overall shape. It would have to start out as a bigger ball for it to work. I'm ok with it as-is for now.

Finally got around to installing my SXTH intercooler. It's been in my garage for almost 2 weeks. Been too cold and rainy. I gotta say, the quality looks top notch with the intercooler itself, but I was VERY disappointed with the quality of the hardware provided. I had 2 hose clamps snap in half while tightening. And I was using a wrench by hand. I was shocked how easily they snapped. I honestly don't know if I'd recommend the SXTH intercooler to anyone because of it. Not what I expected after spending $850. Luckily I had a couple laying around of my own.

Decided to clean my throttle body today. Turns out I didn't need to. If anyone ever questions how well PCV catch cans work, this is how it looks.... The first 2 pictures are before I installed a catch can. The last pic is after 10 months with a catch can installed.

This is what made me get the catch can.

Went to Cars and Coffee today @The Little Speed Shop in Rochester NY! Great turnout. There was a Kona N, and 2 different Elantra N's but no other Veloster N's!

I wish the G70 3.3T came with a manual transmission option - either way, congrats!

As do I! It's a shame only the RWD 2.0t comes in a manual. I test drove one years ago and it was the worst manual experience I ever had. Terrible clutch engagement, amongst other things.

Our local Hyundai dealer is dropping the Genesis franchise. Those are now out unless I want to drive over an hour to the next closest dealership. My preference is a small car. Now...if somebody offered me a swap on a GR86...maybe. I like my VN though. Coming home from work today, before my Pirelli's were warmed-up, I got a nice slide around a sharp corner. Will I ever grow-up?

The weather jumped up to 94-95 degrees at the track event I went to on May 13th so I got a taste of how agressively the factory tune steps in to protect the engine:

I've stockpiled a growing laundry list of parts yet to be installed but today @Mok_Racing installed my Adro front lip and CSF intercooler. Both quality pieces and looking at IATs on the drive home I should be in much better shape if I attend a hot weather HPDE:

Slammed in some Whiteline front lower control arm bushings ( W53629 ) This was an absolute game changer, the steering feel was increased %1000 the steering precision was increased %5000 the car feels AMAZING. This is a no compromise mod, you can really feel the tire load up when cornering, ton of confidence. The car even feels great and more solid going over bumps and during high compression events. Way more stable under braking and acceleration as well. Took me about 3.5 hours from start to finish, I used a ball joint press to get the old bushings out and tapped the new ones in with a hammer with ease after they were in the freezer for about an hour. Threw in some subframe collars while I was in there as well.
