Tires mounted. Initial impressions: RS4 is a wider tire than the OE Pirrelli. Broader shoulder and wider tread blocks. Much more road noise. Tires still need to be broken in but definitely have more grip. Front end is more responsive to steering input. Braking is stronger. Will have more feedback once tires have heat cycled.[/QUOTE]

Wow!!! So much more grip and much more communication!!! The RS4 is very predictable at the limit and easy to control. Great tire and highly recommend it! Looks like I will be sticking with the RS4 as my tire of choice for the N.

Can you explain what tire that is? What brand is it, what size is it? Thanks. I don't know anything about tires.

Anyway, here's what I did today. The "N" badges I found on eBay for about $13 each. The Nurburgring license plate frame I found on Pelican Parts website. I just had to get rid of that dealer frame!

I really like that plate frame! You've given me something to think about once I get my official license plate.

Sure mate! There are tire groups like winter, summer and all season, right? Within the summer group there tiers or class of tire if you will. The HN pirelli 280 or 240 Tread Wear Rating (dont remember) is bespoke tire for the car but ultimately still a street (very good on street) tire the is track capable. Extreme performance summer tires are more track tire (stickier larger tread blocks) and good street tires. The more streetable tire balances noise grip ride firmness etc. The higher in tier you go the less is focused on street characteristics. The tire I am trying out are Hankook RS4's (oem size) and is an extreme summer performance tire 200 TWR. The lower the TWR the stickier the tire. The stickier the tire the shorter lifespan it has.

Dislike chrome! I removed the H's and painted them black. Did plastidip first but was not gappy with end result. I completely removed the emblems to paint them properly and not have to deal with masking. I have ordered a replacement set to prime paint and clear. My goal is to have the front emblem blend with the front grille gloss black. On the back it also goes well with the black as an accent. The front removes relatively easy by prying (gently) behind the emblem and the painted bumper. It will pop the nuts of and done. No tape. The rear i was hoping to remove and leave off but it has an alignment hole and lots of tape. Heat with a heat gun and it will soften the adhesion. Uses fish line or similar and saw through the tape. I recommend replacing the the rear emblem as the tape gets FOUKED up! Lol you can attempt to reapply 3m auto tape but the end outcome is not the greatest in my experience. The new emblem has the die cut tape perfectly placed and emblems only cost about 20 bucks or so U.S.D.

No clue why the pictures are sideways lol

I took home a Performance Blue PP and stalled it 8 times along the way... :p

Going to take some getting used to the clutch on this. The Fiesta was way more forgiving. ;)

Good news, for whatever reason, I don't have any real problems with my big feet getting from deadpedal to clutch.

Bad news, for whatever reason, Android Auto keeps crashing on me. :p

I grabbed a pretty worn cable on my way to the dealership (thought at the last minute that they probably wouldn't package one in with the car). I found some posts on Reddit and other sites with issues and there did seem to be a pattern of "worn/broken USB cables cause it to freak out and crash". I'll be trying out a more recent/less worn cable and buying a new extra today and see if that helps. Fingers crossed, that's all it is.

Today I finally got around to taking off the 2 exterior 'N' badges around the car and replaced them with the base Veloster 2.0 decals that the dealer had extras of. Next step is to replace the "Veloster" script on the back with either "elantra" or the "sonata" script.
