Turbo Tech Racing has just released a new upper right & lower mount for the Veloster N. Both units make an excellent combination to reduce wheel hop and engine torque. The prototype is finished and mounted. They'll begin full production quite soon.

The amount of flex from the OEM UPR mount is considerable and flexes in all directions as you can see in the photos. So, it's no wonder the VN has a wheel hop issue. The Upper Right Motor Mount sells for $225.00 and worth every penny. The Lower Motor Mount sells for $195. https://www.turbotechracing.com/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?

The Lower motor mount unlike others uses a square bushing that reduces the back/forth movement associate with torque from the VN. It allows minimal up/down movement which contributes to a vst reduction in overall engine movement. The OEM unit allows significant movement in all directions, which translates to; extensive engine movement and wheel hop under acceleration. Now the VN stays planted from hard starts and thru acceleration. Which transfers more power to the ground.

Durometer range for the lower mount is 75A, if you're interested. With the combination of both upper and lower Turbo Tech Motor Mounts, power deliver is excellent and wheel hop is non-existent.

Got the OEM Transmission Mount and measurements in place. Ready to send to Turbo Tech Racing; 👍.

VERY IMPORTANT

Gents and Gals,

We'd really like some additional input, as to how many here are willing to purchase the upgraded transmission mount. We're getting ready for prototyping. it's important to please , post your responses below. The more positive input we have as to who are willing to purchase, the more likely
will put the unit into production.

This is about numbers and dollars, the more the merrier!!!! This ^ doesn't happen , without much owner interest!!!. I need owners to spread the word as widely as possible. I can't hit all the media formats but you can as a whole. please share it on instagram and other pertinent social media, please!!! 👍

I may consider it depending on NVH. Also, thank you RedVN for getting cool new performance parts developed for the VN community. (y):)

Unless the price is unreasonable compared to the cost of the other mounts, I'm all in on a trans mount.
Definitely getting the turbo tech transmission mount when/if it is released :)

Outstanding,I was looking around for another mount, I had purchased the Boomba Rear Torque Mount and after the vibration went away (roughly 1k give or take) it has helped greatly in reducing the drivetrain slop that has been built into the N. It has helped greatly in reducing wheelhop and I am definitely going to be acquiring this part in the near future.
Shot off an email to Aaron at Turbo Tech Racing, maybe they'll build a new trans mount hopefully. Need to acquire the part for them so they can make a unit. I'll keep the thread posted on any updates. Most definately will help to put the power to the ground.

I was hoping something like this would be offered.

Keep up the input members if you’d like to see this happen.
Would like to hear an update from any of the above members that installed these on their car.

how is the NVH? At least one person thought it was bad.
I've got the TT upper and the SXTH Lower on my 2021 DCT.

Noise:
Initially, I could hear the injector pump whine very clearly. I'm about 600 miles in and the noise is dropping as the miles climb. Note that I have the DCT with this so, the noise is going to be a bit different for a manual. Likely it will be less since the DCT, when left in 'normal' mode, upshifts much earlier than you normally would with a manual which causes the sound to be more noticeable. It's reduced enough now that it's not really 'remarkable'.

Vibration/Harshness:
Again, initially, the car vibrated noticeably more on startup and while waiting in gear. After 600 miles, I only notice a small amount of vibration when I put it in gear to back out of the garage when the engine is cold. Again, this is reducing over time. The shifts feel firmer when you are at 90% throttle or above but, not punishing.

Wheel hop is all but gone now. The car is much more 'settled' feeling when accelerating through a corner and you hit a small bump in the road.

Overall, this was well worth it and a very easy install. I've retained the old parts but, I'll never go back. Even if the noise and vibration never improved from now, I'd be happy with it. I suspect that it will continue to improve for a bit more but, I've stopped noticing them since they aren't notable.

Regards,

Jim

Id be interested in the trans mount.

Also, something I have not seen mentioned but worth considering is: were these mounts developed with any kind of break away action in mind in event of a crash?
No car is equipped with such mounts. The last thing anyone would want, is to have the engine moving around in the compartment during a crash.
I think the idea is more dropping the engine out the bottom rather than have it impact the firewall.
Such mounts don't exist.

The chassis is designed to collapse in such an event. This means the "crumple zone," will cause the compartment to collapse outward, up and down depending upon the collision, keeping the cabin intact. The engine mounts are an integral point. They're attached to the chassis to bring the engine with the subframe not away or apart from it.

Engine mounts will break but they aren't designed to do so on their own. Everything has to stay intact and crush to absorb the inertia, They redistribute the force before it reaches the vehicle's occupants. Letting the engine breakaway, will increase the inertia transferred to the cabin and occupants. This amount of force is spent on bending the frame, without touching the vehicle compartment.
🤔 anyway I gather the TTR mounts do not do this which is honestly fine as it's aftermarket.

I can understand Subaru because of the engines low center of gravity. Every manufacturer has their specific method of providing a "crumple zone" and it was first invented on Mercedes Benz vehicles. Neither of which has anything to do with the TTR Engine and Trans mounts.

Let's keep this on topic and discuss this particular elsewhere.

I will FOR SURE be purchasing this item, I have also been reaching out to a lot of people and getting their feelings about it - same as mine, I would accurately estimate north of 3000 units to be sold just off the people that said they're strongly interested to my postings about it.
They need to post it here, if you can direct them to this thread.
