Anyone here kicking themselves for buying the N, or at least find themselves pining for the one that got away (type R i'm looking at you)? I know I'm sampling a biased group but I'd be interested to hear opinions. Also, even if you're happy overall, is there anything you strongly dislike about the car? I know there's an official subforum for that topic but it's deader than dead in there.

I think the only car i would have preferred is the EU spec Focus ST. We didnt get it here so the N was next best in my opinion. And even then, the ST apparently doesn't have a custom mode which would annoy the ever living crap out of me because i bought this car for the exhaust but the roads here are miserable with the dampers on normal mode so i would definitely not be able to tolerate the ST in track mode and at that point i might as well have bought the base so although the N was technically my 2nd choice, i think over all its the better one for me.

My experience says this is the car i wanted. I had an 89 civic si back in college. I loved that car! Today Honda is not that same company with no nonsense cars. Test drove the current SI and it was All Wrong. The type R is better but two things held me back: one, the price jumped from a reasonable 35k to 37.5k in one year. Two, sound is terrible. I could not enjoy the drive as much with noises of suck and blow that suck and blow. Even the many sound clips of thousand dollar afrter market exhaust didn’t fix the sound.

The N feels right and so7nds right.

I love the car. I own a honda(ep3 with a k20a2 swap and supercharged) and that's enough for me. But this VN is just dope. I freaking love the crackle and pops it makes. Btw I have a base N and don't regret that either. I got mine well under msrp. This thing handles great, has plenty of power and is deceptively quick for what it is. So far what I've done to her is the bushing insert for the torque mount, piper cross air filter, Velossa Tech Snorkle, Rally Armor Mud flaps with the baby blue color, boomba blow off valve(kind of don't like the sound this one makes, not sure if it is damaged) and enkie rpf1 18x9 with 38 offset in gold color! Saved a Whopping 8lbs per wheel. I have also added 4 gallons of e85 mix and the car feels legit for what it is.

Does that Wheel setup stick out the fenders? Seems like it might be a bit wide and have rubbing issues.

It's flush on the rear and pokes a little on the front. No rubbing issues at all, and I drive it hard to say the least. I plan on dropping it later this year, I don't expect any rubbing issues, plenty of clearance. Maybe if they where 19's they would.

For my daily driver that I needed no regrets. I'm not really a new car person as depreciation is crazy to me but barring any reliability issues I'm going to run this thing into the ground. I did consider a used Porsche 996 turbo, which I'll probably get at some point, but as my daily driver I'm happy with the VN.

I still have a soft spot for Honda’s and the s2k (along with nsx though I never owned) were my favorites but you can’t keep a car forever unless it’s just a weekend toy and you have garage space.

I waited what felt like an eternity for the I30N to come here in some form and had high expectations. It has exceeded them and is fun to own and drive every single day. That’s all I can ask.

No regrets here. I drive the N everyday to work and back on smooth hills and curves...lots of fun! I wanted the Honda Civic Type R, but I just could not find them for under $45k around my area, no way I am paying for that amount of marked up price. When I test drove the N, and the dealer salesperson said "drive it like you stole it" I was super amazed by the handling and sound, I knew I wanted it. But that dealer also marked up their N. I had to drive 4 hours from Las Vegas to Preoria to pick one up at MSRP and it was the color that I want (white) sitting in the show room with 2 miles. Still I am very happy every time I drive this car. I hope that some legit company start building motors for this car - fully built motor, big turbo, I want more power!

No regrets here either, I’m not a tall guy but I weigh 225lbs and I sat in a type R and there’s no way my 49 year old ass could day drive it with seats that tight not to mention having to slide over that high side bolster to get in. Even though there are faster cars out there with better this and that, I LOVE my N. Oh and I bought a base as well and so far I’ve done the Boomba torque mount and BOV and more stuff is on the way.

I'm coming out of my modded frs. I regret it some days. I went from an admittedly under powered sports car to a car made sporty. There's a big difference. It's too high, front wheel drive... Just hard to get used to. I like the power but I made my frs pretty quick. I think I need a dedicated rwd low sports car. I do love the car and truly think in the catagory of fwd or even awd hatchback it's great value and fun. I just miss my sports car. I don't think the type r is worth the extra 5 or 7k more it is. Plus you will definitely need an exhaust.
