I don't know if I just wasn't seeing the spam on the previous iteration of forum software, but I'm definitely seeing a number of spam posts on this new software. Obviously, the ad space is more prevalent in this new software as well, which is annoying, but I get it: hosting costs money. But the spam posts seem to be getting out of hand, again, compared to the previous version of the forum.

Did I just not notice the spam posts previously? Do we not have the same moderation controls as before? What's the deal?

They were definitely there and about as abundant as they are now.

I guess that there are a lot of people that are using forum authority backlinks, that's why you think that there is a lot of spam. In a way, it can be considered spam because there are many backlinks that are posted on irrelevant threads which should be deleted from the forum. It is a tool that is used by digital marketing companies, especially seo sphere. They are trying to post as many links as possible in order to increase the rating of a website on the search engine list like Google, Bing, Yahoo, Yandex etc.
