Welcome Matt, I'm curious how the car looks with spacers, but yea I hope they fix it. I abandoned going to the dealership to have them look at my car as it's no use. I feel they will just throw part's at it like the Hyundai tech tells them to. I would rather call them or someone that will listen and get them to actually fix it with a software update. We all know that is what it takes to fix it.
Ok tried to get some decent pictures but it’s really hard to make em look good. I know they’re there, 20mm all around, I think the front shot tells the story the best.

Please file a report with NHTSA Report a Safety Problem | NHTSA
This is a vehicle safety system and if there are many reports of failures it will force Hyundai to work on a fix very quickly
I don't have this problem because it doesn't exist on the 2020's lol but I came here to say this exact thing. Every single owner with this problem and no help from the dealer should file a report with the government.

It does look nice man thanks for the pics, kinda forgot how mine looks. I will go check it in the morning to compare. I am scared for your paint on the side of the car from small rock chips. I think this would be where mud flaps might come in handy.

Anyone here know if Michelen PS4 tires on stock wheels trip the sensors out or if it's fine? Looking to upgrade my tires soon
I think any tire other than the stock tires will trip the sensors, which is crazy but @Lunacy has claimed on this form that it has no issues:

"I'm running 19x8.5 +45 with Michelin pilot sport all season 4 235/35 No issues."

so you might be fine.

Winter tires are off, back to OEM wheel and OEM PZero summer tires. BSD issues are completely gone, just for reference again, I ran Enkei TS10 with 235/40/R18 Michelin Alpin 4.

Also I realized the OEM wheels are really heavy, the car is noticeably slower accelerating and braking.

Weather warmed up here and I can report that most of the false reads have stopped and I didn’t do a darn thing to the car. Seems like once the ambient temperature climbs above 50, most of my issues went away, really strange. I‘m not the most tech savvy person out there but seems like a recalibration is in order from the engineers at Hyundai.

You see that makes sense that it's temperature related rather then tire related.

Temperature can change the density of the air that can affect how fast or slow the radar detects the return signal. That also explains why when it rains or snows why the BSD system works without issues. The Density of the air changes.

I completely agree it's a problem in the code that does not account for ambient temperature.

My BSD is still a bit buggy. 30-40% of the time it still gives me false signals mostly on the passenger side. Our ambient temperature ranges for a low of 45 F at night to 77 F at mid day. Guess I still need to wait for temps to go up and not fall below 60's at night.

Just chiming in here with my experience:

I just purchased a brand new '22 Veloster N last week, and I planned to immediately swap out the wheels/tires. I came across this post (and posts like this) regarding the BSD breaking after aftermarket wheels/tires beforehand. So I knew what I was getting myself into before getting new wheels, but I kinda hoped maybe I'd be exempt.

I was wrong. Just got my wheels/tires put on today, and immediately after the BSD started acting up with plenty of false positives.

Wheels: 18x8 Enkei TS-10 +50
Tires: 235/40ZR-18 Conti ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus

Welcome.. and congrats on your new VN. The hope is warmer weather will cause it to not have false positives. Mine still has false positives so maybe it may not help for warmer weather. We are all hoping Hyundai fixes with an update.

I have a theory, it seems that my winter set which is 18x8 Enkei TS-10 +50mm on 235/40/R18 is smaller than the OEM one just by a little bit, I bet people with 245/40/R18 might not be having the issue, most people who have that setup have pre-2021 so no BSD equipped in the first place.

I don't know... mayyyyybe, but according to Tire Size Comparison -- my setup, which is the same size as yours, is only 3mm smaller than stock. That's so small it seems within the margin of error.

I must be really fortunate because I'm not experiencing this issue. I am running OEM size tires but on 19x8.5 +35mm
