There are a lot of people out there that have wrapped the red in all different colors, including black and even carbon. If you aren't already I suggest joining some of the Facebook groups that exist, they are a great place for getting ideas!

Gotcha, I would check with a local shop and see what they would charge, you might be surprised, it's a pretty small amount of surface area.

On the other hand, it's a good place to hone your skills/learn a new skill seeing as its a small amount so you wont be spending too much in product and starting over isn't as much of a burden because its a small area.

I used to own a vinyl wrap business and I’m going to be doing mine soon. I’ll be recording the whole thing for a diy video and I’ll post it here after I’m done.
The side trim should be easy to do without taking off the car, I’m personally thinking I’ll get better results with taking the bumper apart to get that done right. But I’ll keep you posted on here when I’m done!

the only thing I’m waiting on is the specific color vinyl to get to my house due to covid it’s obviously taking longer than normal for shipping.

How is this project going? I thought of this a few weeks after buying my N last year. I wanted to do black but a co-worker mention white. What color are you going with?

so it’s officially done!
I did end up taking off the red panels and it was super easy, there are about 15 clips to remove it from the front bumper.

To sum it up,
1. Take the front bumper off, 4 10m bolts on the top 1 10m bolt on each side on the wheel well, 3 clips on each side of the fender liners in the wheel wells, 8 clips under the car
2. About 15 clips on the back side of each red trim piece, with a little patients they come off easy.. just take a little time.
3. Wrap
4. Reverse step 2 and 1
5. Enjoy your new trim wrap.

here are some pictures of inside the fender where you need to remove the clips.
I’ll upload pics in the next post of the final on the post after this

Here’s the pieces mid wrap, and the final finished assembly.
It’s hard to tell in the picture but my red piece was messed up really bad with rock chips so it caused some unevenness in the wrap when you look up close but in pictures you can’t tell.
And I’m just happy I don’t have a ton of white dots on my red trim any more.

Looks good, I like the purple color. I'm really considering wrapping the red on mine in black or carbon look. This was a helpful tutorial.
Any time man. I wasn’t too concerned with how to wrap the car, just how to get those pieces off for wrapping, and it really was not hard at all to be honest. Just took some time

@SAWKVN vinyl finally is here!
Tomorrow I’m putting it on!
I have a Red VN+PP and the silver trim does not really show up. I was thinking about using a light green wrap at the front and side sills (not sure about the rear bumper trim?).
I have to many aching body parts to crawl underneath the car and unscrew ever thing.
My question is can I wrap the trim without removing it from the car, I know it will not be as neat as your method. Is it possible that I can push the edge of the wrap down into the crack of the trim, so that the edge looks neat and not jagged if I tried to trim it along the trim outside edges. Thanks Dave

I sent you a message. Trying to determine how much wrap to buy and where to buy it from. Also, did you wrap the red piping trim piece on the rear bumper as well? I assume you just wrapped it on the car like the side skirts?

Let me know,

Metrorestyling.com is a great place to purchase the wrap from. They carry the top high quality brands, have good prices, and sell everything in small and custom size pieces. Currently I am waiting on some color samples from them, because I plan to wrap my red trim bronze to match my wheels.

Good to know, but how do I know what size to order to work on this red trim stuff? Also, do I use a plastic razor blade to cut it for the sides and back or should I use a metal blade?

You will need a couple inches more in each dimension than the part itself. So for the red side trim I used a piece about 3" tall and three inches longer than the red piece I was wrapping.
