Car & Driver just posted a Golf R vs CTR comparo for best hot hatch. They like the CTR performance, still hate it's looks. The test sheet shows 5.1 zero to 60 for both, and the C&D sheet on my VN shows 5.2. It looks like that .1 sec cost the buyers of both vehicles $12K or more... And it's still about the driver, at that point!

It's definitely a shame they didnt include the N with the performance package given it's performance against the Golf R becomes even more notable when not in a straight line...I like the Golf R, but the Golf R cannot sustain momentum like the N (neither of which can sustain momentum like the CTR.)

When Lightning Lap comes around, I really hope we see a N ran. I think the results will be pretty shocking...

I agree!! in stock form. I have since purchased lighter wider wheels to match the CTR width. The wheels are currently mounted with the OEM Perelli's and exhibit much more sustained grip. I also have the oem wheel mounted with a set of RS4's in OEM size. Will be testing the setup in November on track, Barber MSP. Once the Perelli's are exhuasted I will be mounting SC2's. I would like to match the 245 width of the CTR but don't think Ill have the space once I have set my preferred alignment.

Any way, what I am trying to say is the CTR and N are close in performance and honestly down to the driver. In specs alone the CTR has it. But match up some of the suspension, wheel, tires and I'd bet they are close to even.
