I first bought my VN PP back in April of 2019! I loved the car, I was actually in the market for a pick up truck and some how came across the N and just got it on the spot. Every since having this car, I've had a countless number of problems. I stay on top of the maintenance. I don't allow the original dealer I bought it from to touch it. I don't even trust them to look at the car 2 miles away. They put the wrong oil in my car and the wrong gas. The owners manual clearly states no octane lower than 91. It is my daily driver! Am I the only one?

First. After approaching 7,000 miles, I had to get a new engine. Thankfully Hyundai warrantied the engine and I did not have to pay anything out of pocket other than the car note that month for a vehicle that wasn't even in my driveway.

Second. It was about 20 degrees out this particular morning, I started the car up and after about 15 minutes of letting it warm up it was good to go. I pulled off and heard a loud noise coming from the engine bay. I pulled over and I couldn't tell exactly what the noise was but come to find out an engine mount had broken. On top of that, I took the car to the dealer and they once again warrantied the engine mount but while the car was in the shop I got a call. The call was from the service member stating that I had a "hole" in my transmission...! Ok, I was a bit puzzled but they warrantied that as well.

Third. The screen in my car sometimes goes out when connected to Apple CarPlay. Which on my part is weird. I have to disconnect the USB cord from the jack and reconnect it after waiting about 3 seconds. If that doesn't work, I have to shut the car off and restart it.

Forth. Last but not least, I got a flat one day...and the car compressor with the tire sealant just did not do the job at all. I had to get the car towed. The Pirelli's that came on the car are not good at all! I ultimately switched to Continental's that were like $225 a tire.

Fifth. After going through all of that, I am hearing yet another problem coming from the underneath the car and I have no idea where it's coming from and why. It too almost sounds like another engine mount or the same one has given way.

I hate to say it...I love this car but I have a love hate relationship. Like seriously, am I the only one that's having problems with my N?

I get it; stuff happens...but sheesh. This many problems...

Any Suggestions?

It's a shame to read about your issues with the N. I haven't had any of the issues you have had. But with your post I'll be sure to look out for those things.

Well most your car issues have been covered with the warranty. So my suggestion would be you can either trade or sell the car before the warranty ends.

With that being said take in consideration that this is still a car that is new and all new things tend to have a few "bugs" that need to be worked out (otherwise recalls wouldn't exist if cars rolled off the assembly line perfect).

I hope you don't have any more issues with your car.

Most of the problems sound related to the original engine and/or engine replacement. The Apple CarPlay stuff is hit and miss in a lot of cars and the newest cars will probably work with the latest Apple phones (might cause more issues if your phone is a little older.) High performance brakes and tires are for performance and not reliability, so that's a trade off when you go with higher performance vehicles.

Good luck and maybe try out the lemon law thing and let us know how it works out.

So the first issue was having the wrong engine oil, non-premium fuel, etc
Then the second issue was when joe shmoe was taking the old engine out and placing the new engine in, additional things broke as a result because of incompetence (not surprised).
I too dislike having people touch my car. I never had success and the industry is known for its problems

I had a 2019 veloster base before i got m N, and it was recalled for a faulty door latch
I brought it into a Hyundai dealership, mech replaces the latch and then the screen became all glitchy and wouldnt turn off when i turn the ignition off and open the doors to exit.

Flat tires everyone gets! Log that one off as normal.

The infotainment center is the culprit and most likely the software. Have them replace the unit.

Dont know know about a hole in the trans as you’ve not provided additional information. However there is a rectangular inspection hole iN the MT. It was warranted so the warranty is doing it’s job for you.

Motor mount issue was most likely due to improper reinstall, over torquing after the engine replacement. Service/ Maintenance error.

What was the reason for the new engine. Elaborate but keep in mind the warranty was intact and the issue was remedied.

Bottomline is; stuff happens especially with new model year cars. Problems and parts malfunctions get better as production continues.

You can either sell the car or trade it.

Your car is past any lemon law case in most states and Hyundai has responded to your warranted issues and fulfilled the necessary repairs of each issue. None at any cost to you.

You can always post a video of the noise here for further clarification and help with a possible diagnosis. Your best course of action is with your dealership service and complaints thru Hyundai Assurance Customer Service.😃👍🇺🇸
