I've been shopping for a bit. Thought I wanted a WRX (I'm a Subaru guy) but Consumer Reports hates on the reliability for that car. I didn't like the Honda, the features were nice, but the red lights and all electronic dash I loathed. I also thought the fit and finish seemed a little lacking. I feel in love with the N the moment I sat in it. I love the quirky 3rd door. The test drive made my heart skip a beat, something the others didn't quite do (type R had great performance but too pricey in my book and I have too much grey in my beard to have that kind of spoiler). Made the deal and left my deposit last night. Today I'll pick it up. Can't wait. I opted for the blue in base model.

I see you have the non performance pack. i also have the same andi truly love the car I like you have a lot of grey all over (sucks big and wide gettin old) but the car is so much fun to drive. i get a lot of comments on the performance blue paint. check with the dealership there is a recall for a door latch to replace not a big deal at all i have to drop mine off tomorrow I found that the spare tire from a 14 to 16 kia credenza will work as a spare tire if you feel naked without one i posted a message on that in wheels and tires. well enjoy and remember its not nice to pick on the GTI"S !

I was super close to buying a WRX. I was coming from a BRZ but when i test drove the wrx i hated the seating position. It kinda felt like driving a truck to me.

Thanks @azycray. I love the car too. The color was more important to me than the performance package. The LSD would be nice, but I didn't want the other wheels as replacing the tires was costlier when I did a quick check. I'm never going to take it on a track. Since they both have the same torque I doubt that the HP difference would be noticeable on the street. Thanks for the heads up on the recall.

Word to the wise; don't ever rely on Consumer Reports to make a car selection. The Honda Civic R is way overpriced for what it is. It was in the same market as the Focus RS and the Focus is way more car for the same amount of money.:grin:

No current recalls from Hyundai for the Veloster N. None listed at NHTSA either. There was a notice about a possible recall 24 April on My Hyundai website but it's "NULL".
