Well, after careful research and asking the right questions, i have decided on this. Should be here by Friday, Aug. 9th. :smile_big:

GFB Mach 2 TMS Recirculating Diverter Valve for 2017+ Hyundai i30N 2.0T - SakariMotorsports.com

They also have this at a great price too. Won't find them any cheaper....

GFB HYBRID TMS Dual Outlet Blow Off Valve for 2017+ Hyundai i30N 2.0T - SakariMotorsports.com

If you are gonna get one, better jump on it now. Good luck with whatever you all decide to do.

Not to my knowledge. It is a recirculating valve. The stock one makes no noise... It's easy enough to pull off if I need to bring it in. It's a 10 to 15 minute job. 4 bolts and 2 hose clamps and wa-la.... lol... Hope this helps you.

Personally, I probably will not buy that kit because I'm old and don't like all that noise. LOL.... Honestly, it took me years to "kind of like" the ricer sounding exhaust too. :) I'm a V-8 rumble kind of guy. Ha, ha....

Me too... Me too...

I really do miss that V8 rumble... But the crackles and pops of the VN seem to scratch the itch so far

I agree... But what really does it for me is the standard transmission, the factory type racing seats, the steering wheel, the 5 drive modes, the rims, the turbo, big brakes, the incredible handling and how easy it is to modify. I'm know I'm forgetting some things but you get the idea. :)

Here are some pics of the GFB T9110 before install and after. This is by far one of the easiest installs I have ever done on a BOV/Recycling valve. GFB even provides you with install instructions but just by looking at it you can easily figure it out. I drove a little bit with it in and the car seems much more linear to drive, Throttle response is better too. For some reason my exhaust sounds louder. I'm not sure why but I like it! No check engine lights either. Well worth the 150 bucks!!! This piece is made great. Very, very sturdy and looks awesome. Also, the white lines you see on the top bolt is where I put some touch up paint to mark where it was set when it came out of the box. I did this in case it needed adjusting so I can see how much to increase or decrease and where the starting point was. In my case it was fine where it was set at. Glad I did it!!! If anyone installs it and needs any help, please just ask. :)

Best regards,

-Mike

Ok Guys, I think I want a BOV. But looking for one without a "phssssssss" sound, but with more of a "whirly bird" sound. Don't want same sounding BOV as everybody on the road. Not on this car. Not all BOV's sound the same I'm finding out. Just will take off before I head to Dealer for anything for warranty. SShhh, we don't do that. Ha.

With the GFB you can buy different horns that make the sound different. I guess I'd go that route. With the one I bought, I can buy different horns to make the sound different. All I have to do is un-screw the port the hose goes on and screw in a horn to make to VTA. I have mine recirculating. It is a very stout bov for sure. Check them out, the price is unbeatable.

Update:

I have been experimenting with the screw that controls spring pressure and I have it 3 full turns down past top dead center. It's about 1/8th of an inch below sitting flush on the top of the unit. All I can say is the throttle response it incredible. Much, much better than stock for sure!!! I haven't tested it in a high gear past 3000 rpm's and let off to see if I get fluttering. If I do I am going to back off the spring at a half turn rate till it is gone. This will be the best for throttle response and best for the turbo. The car definitely feels much quicker. This is a great mod!!!! Get one! lol....

Can anyone explain why throttle response would be better with an aftermarket BOV? Again, turbo noob here, trying to learn.

Does the BOV help keep the turbo spooled so you can hold the boost longer therefore increasing the power you have available?

A good after market BOV won't leak like a factory one will. This will allow you to hold and get into the boost available much faster thus giving you better throttle response. After putting on the GFB recirc. valve on I believe the factory one is either opening too soon or prone to leakage. On the VN the BOV opens and closes real fast, just enough to prevent flutter. That's all you want it to do. Flutter is the air being chopped and the turbo can't keep up with the air. Once the BOV opens it smooths things out so the turbo can function correctly. I am by no means an expert. This is only my 3rd turbo car and a lot of this stuff is new to me too. I am sure Red or LateralGrip can explain things much better than I can. I tried explaining it in layman's terms.

Come on, don't sell yourself short. I have to say the throttle response is great with this valve. It was really worth it!!!
