Hello everyone! Coming from a 2013 Scion FRS, I am very excited to depart on this journey with my new Performance Blue Veloster N w/ performance package and to see what other owners have to say about their experiences. Mine is about a week and half old and I managed to snag it for a bit under MSRP after shopping around at a few different dealers. Unfortunately a couple of days after driving it I started noticing a very annoying and at times rather loud rattle coming from the front area of the car when doing any sort of accelerating past a quarter throttle. I've been having a hard time pinpointing the exact origin as I've had some say that it sounds like it's coming from within the dash area and others from inside the engine compartment, I'm leaning towards the latter. It is also a bit random as some days there is no rattle whatsoever and others, like this past weekend, it is very pronounced and hard to overlook. Anyway I decided to leave it at a nearby Hyundai dealer for the service department to check out while I hang out with loaner Sonata. Let me know if any of you guys have had the same or similar issue, but aside from that the car is absolutely fantastic and cannot wait to get past the break-in period to really give it the beans

Sorry to hear that you have developed a rattle...hope the dealership gets it all sorted out for you! This car is FUN and you enjoy it!

I just picked mine up a few days ago also. Same color and PP. I had to drive 300 miles to get it...there were no Performance Packages in Louisiana.

No rattles on mine as of yet. When in N mode the suspension is quite rough with the roads down here in Louisiana. I have the suspension normal most of the time and was wondering how long it will take with the crappy roads that I will develop a noise.

Hope not!

I have noticed the exact same thing. It's not so much a rattle as a ticking from the centre front that increases with rpm after the turbo begins to hit any boost.

I figured it was attributed to the engine noise that is to be pumped in via the audio system as it sounds somewhat artificial. Let me know what they say!

The car is an absolute blast and having the option to switch it from normal mode for when you are cruising and N mode for when you want a sore back is incredibly convenient. I find myself primarily sticking with custom with the suspension set to normal and steering to sport, the auto rev matching is also making me quiet lazy but I love it haha.

Unfortunately as I expected, the rattle was absent while they had it in for service so they chalked it up to vibration from the sunglasses that I have stored in the little overhead compartment by the rear view mirror, which I know is not the issue since I was wearing them on my way to drop it off with the rattle still present. On the bright side I think I might have found the culprit! I believe the noise is coming from the rear view mirror assembly. I tested it out tonight while on my way to work and every time I heard the rattle I would try holding the rear view mirror and poof! no more noise...after a few times it actually stopped making any noise whatsoever without me having to hold it. Will keep messing with it some more just to be sure but I'm very happy to report that it is not a mechanical issue of any sort.

The only other thing that I hear sometimes is a slight metal sounding vibration when I have the exhaust set to sport+ in either N or Custom mode. I'm not super concerned about it though since it's too minor for me to care and it might have to do with the flap that opens up to make those addicting exhaust sounds in those modes. Worthy trade off in my book....

This car is freaking awesome guys! Next week I'm having some PPF installed for the front end to protect it from rock chips as well as have ceramic coating applied all around to make it easier to keep clean. Planning to keep this vehicle for a long time!
