New to the Veloster N Performance and Hyundai but enjoying it so far. Happy for the purchase and all that comes with this car. I had a Civic Type R that I sold. This car for me is the in between car of a Civic Si and a Type R. All that I want in my Si but not at the cost of a Type R. I’ve had 3 CSi and have always been a fan of them, so to buy a Hyundia was a leap into unknown territory. I also had sellers remorse when I Sold my Type R, but when I purchased this I became satisfied.

Welcome and I dig the color... of course i’m biased!

Would you care to share your decision to sell the Type R? How many miles were on it. What were your likes/dislikes. I’m sure many of us considered it although fewer found one to test.

I think overall the N is the better buy, when you factor in cost, maintenance, and warranty since this is my daily driver. I'm not an expert driver or reviewer of vehicles, but for just daily driving to work and getting around town, the N holds its weight. Even taking the N on country road twisties is a blast and very comparable to my R. The R had a little over 1K before selling it. So some may say I didn't spend much time with the car to give it a fair shake. Overall I did like the R, but like I said if you factor in the things I mentioned above the N is perfect for me. I actually had buyers and selling remorse for the R, which is why I waited to find another hatch sports car that met my desires. About a year later almost exactly, I purchased this N. I'll end with this, I love the custom mode on the N and the sound of the engine and exhaust. The R was definitely lacking the sounds that this car brings. Customer mode allows me to have almost everything in Sport+ minus the rough ride from the suspension, if on bumpy roads. I will be getting clear bra and ceramic done this week, since this is a keeper for me for sure....

Quoted from motor trend:
"The biggest advantage the Veloster had going for it was its low-end torque, meaning Randy could blast it out of a corner more quickly than he could with the Honda. Yes, at 295 lb-ft, the Honda makes more torque than the Hyundai's 260 lb-ft, but the Type R's not making its full-twisting force until 2,500 rpm, whereas the Veloster N makes its peak torque at just 1,450 rpm."
