Hi Everyone,

Recently, my driver door will not open from the outside. I will have to go through the passenger side to open the driver side door from the exterior. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah and temperatures have been in the low 30's to the teens. I wonder if the cold weather could have something to do with it but I doubt it. Has anybody experienced this issue on their Veloster N?

It's definitely related to cold-weather. Nobody has found a fix for yet.

When I brought our N in for the Campaign #953 ECM update, I listed this as a noted issue. My dealer, Wolfchase Hyundai in Memphis, TN, order a replacement P/N 81310-J3010 Latch Assembly and it was installed in the car on 13 December 2019. Yesterday it was 25°F and I opened the LH without any drama whatsoever as first pull after unlocking it and I was in.

Between the couple of days between service visits (i.e., initial complaint and replacement part arrival), I was able to make a video of my car malfunctioning so there was no question/mystery about how it was happening.

I just experienced this issue yesterday. Temps were upper 20's here, no precip and dry the past few days. We've had colder temps in the past as well as snow and it's never happened before. I opened the door from the passenger side and pressed on to work. I left from work, 10 hours later and the friggin thing opened right up and hasn't done it since (Temps around mid 40s). Gremlin? Headaches to come?? Guess we'll see.
