Anyone have any experience with "DipYourCar" peelable paint for painting some details (like blacking out the red trim, or extending it around the whole grill?) Just curious. I got an ad for it on Facebook and thought that might be fun to play with if it was "harmless".

You can spray the whole car in Plastic Dip is you desire with no ill effects. Don't like it, just peel it off.
I don't know about Plasti Dip the whole car lol; I just did my back Hyundai emblem and "Veloster"

I was thinking about blacking out the hood and the frame pieces that run up & around the windows and go all the way down to the back tires using Vinyl Wrap. I will mess around on photoshop later to give you guys a better idea what I'm talking about
*Edit* my idea somehow sounded/looked better in my head...what do you guys think?

BTW any1 ever use Vinyl or have other suggestions?

Fonzie with Dip Your Car on YouTube is the best reference if you are interested in doing this. He has a video on literally everything and he is the person to bring "peelable paint" to the foreground.

If you plan on doing anything with it I highly recommend binge watching his videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsqsjtd902RLo8peD11olPw

He does great at plasti dipping, no doubt, i've watched plenty of his videos, but he is also a salesman and will tell you that you need to buy his stuff lol. Just keep in mind there are still cheaper solutions, like the DYC sprayer and gun for example, it's literally a re-branded tool. I cant remember where I found it years ago, but I saw it like at 2/3 the cost and it was the EXACT same tool.

Agreed. He is a salesman, but he really knows his stuff and has been around the product as long as anyone else if not longer. Not saying you have to buy his product, always do your research, but his information is extremely valuable and I feel if I learn everything from him and his videos the least I could do is support him and his business. While also fully understanding that money is money and you gotta look for the best deal for you.

I’ve used it before and love it, it’s quick, cheap and comes off easy. I will say it does suck if you get gasoline on it. Something with the way it’s made chemicals eat it up.
I am going to use it for my wheels soon after I wrap my trim.
The only reason I’m wrapping the trim is I want a longer lasting color change for that red. Over time the plastidip isn’t going to last as long as wrap.
As well I’m dipping the wheels because I only have stock wheels and plan on changing them down the road to different wheels all together.

Guys, I ordered the piano gloss hyper dip today after watching a ton of Fonzie’s vids. I’ll be doing all of the badges including removing and doing the Veloster badge. I’ll also be doing the front lip and that silver coloured vent strip that sits above the front lip.
I’ll be recording it for my channel so I’ll post a link when it’s all done. The product should be here by Wednesday. I have a good idea of exactly how I want to do it in order to get the best results. Let’s see how it turns out.

I Dipped my last Bimmer with all the Dip Your Car equipment and materials. I got a lot of positive comments and it lasted 2.5 years. (sold the car, might still be on there)

I personally prefer wrapping my cars. Its a little more intensive and requires a decently steady hand, but i like it because you dont have to deal with overspray and its one of those things that can either be as difficult or as easy as you make it.
