I was wondering if it's normal for the car to jerk back and forth in 1st gear while driving 4-10 mph in traffic. I'm used to it but it does get annoying sometimes. I already got the rear motor mount but I haven't installed it yet. I'm planning to get the upper soon. Do you guys think these mounts will eliminate the jerk?

MT or DCT? I've heard DCT can be jerky at low speeds but I don't have any experience with them.

what rpm are you at when it jerks? maybe rpm is too low or if rpm is too high go into 2nd and see if that helps. 1st can be jerky if rpm is high

yea mine jerks too, DCT here, I usually let the front car make some distance before I step on it, so I'm able to get into 2nd gear without the jerkiness.

It's a 19 MT. and it only happens in traffic so i'm just cruising in 1-2k rpm.

how long have you been driving manual? Bring smooth at low speeds requires some finesse, like not letting off the throttle too suddenly

I drove manual for a little over a year. Yah, my foot is only a little tap on the pedal when cruising. It only happens when i'm in first gear.

Sorry to hijack your thread. So I've got 5k miles of experience in a manual car and driving in N mode from 1sr to 2nd the car jolts a bit. It doesn't always do this but am I doing something wrong?

try not to release the gas. like try softer/slower inputs when going slow but don't fully release it. maybe that will help

I've tried softer inputs, and it def jerks, u gotta give it a smidge more gas for it to get going into 2nd, thus why it's a good idea to make some space then step on it.

Unless your OEM motor mounts are broken or loose, the aftermarket mounts will only exacerbate the issue. Poly bushings will soak up less load than rubber due to their stiffness.

Also, throttle response is amplified in N mode, a light foot is key to keeping the driving smooth.
