New Veloster N PP owner and I've had some issue come up. For background I have driven the car very lightly for the first 250 miles to break it in and I'd say since 250 I've driven a little bit harder but definitely not dogging it until I hit 500.
At 325 miles I was driving home when I noticed a weird kind of clunk and whoosh sound whenever I blipped the revs for downshifts at highway speeds. It didn't seem to matter about the gear but I only heard it above 40 mph when I'd downshift and blip the revs. If I tapped the throttle a 2nd time immediately afterward I wouldn't hear the noise. Almost thought it was a normal sound at first that I just hadn't noticed, but I decided it's definitely not a normal sound. Today the sound didn't go away and it felt like the car was behaving weirdly at low speeds below 15 mph making very slight odd noises (almost kinda like engine knock) when I'd let off the clutch, and it seemed like it wasn't accelerating smoothly sometimes between 2500-4500 rpms. I realized I hadn't accelerated the car hard since I noticed the noise and when I did, it felt like there was way more lag and that it didn't pull as hard. After driving around a little more I did figure out that it made the weird noise if I blipped the throttle in gear as well.
I'll be taking it to the dealer asap because I may as well if it's under warranty, but does this seem like a boost leak issue?
And in case anyone asks, I did put 93 in it.
I'm sure that this isn't a big deal and it's just an occasional "shakedown issue" that sometimes comes from a car being new and that something just needs to be tightened, but I wanted to start a thread in case anyone else runs into anything similar.
Side note: aside from this issue I'm absolutely in love with the car. It feels so much more lively and tighter driving than my mk6 VW golf 2.5. Definitely picked the right car 👍
