After watching the most recent Joe Raiti YouTube review of a VN, I've been checking out 3rd gear more. It is becoming my fav gear and a reminder of why I love the car. And you can go to it most times you're doing highway speed.
If I'm doing around the 65 mph limit, it's as simple as N / N Custom mode, hanging on 3rd, and ideally staying around 5000 rpm.
Pops galore -- almost at will by just letting up on the throttle a bit. The car feels and sounds great. And you can stay in 3rd gear for a pretty wide range of speeds.
No, I don't recommend staying at 3rd and 5000 rpm for *most* of the time. But it's great when you can.
