Any tasteful interior mods recommended?

19575 Views 29 Replies 13 Participants Last post by  RedVN
The all-black, all-plastic interior is not a huge negative for me but I was wondering if anyone came across any interior mods that helped?

I also find the dash/windshield reflections to be particularly bad in the Veloster. I've seen a couple of dash cover options but none of them looked great. And I would rather deal with the reflections than introduice something tacky to the interior. Anyone have any suggestions here?

Thanks.

Look at shark racing's website. Here it is: Hyundai Veloster - Veloster 2019+ (JS) - Page 1 - Shark Racing

They have a ton of stuff for the 2nd generation Veloster.

Best regards,

Thanks Mike - a couple of interesting items on there and the prices seem very reasonable.
You are very welcome!

Br,

Mr Kim is able to procure N Performance interior pieces wrapped in alcantara and ship them over to North America for very reasonable prices. You can find him on Instagram at @nperformance_store
He will generate a PayPal invoice and you can pay that way. I just bought the OEM N Performance alcantara arm rest from him and it was super easy. Adds some soft surfaces to the vehicle and should be more comfortable for extended driving!

Just purchased the arm rest from him as well. Waiting till he gets the interior CF trim and mirror caps are available to see what he will charge for them.

Also the only leather/cloth cover I would want for the interior is for the panel that your right knee constantly hits. I checked shark racing and they don’t have that piece.

It's going to cost you over 1k for those pieces.

I found an individual on eBay who is selling carbon mirror caps. I believe SoCalgarageworks sells carbon trim pieces as well.

I don’t buy anything from eBay without having multiple people vouching for the quality before hand. When I am ready I am going to contact SoCal and ask them how much it would be for those interior pieces minus the gauge hood and the piece behind the steering wheel. Since those are the two biggest pieces I hope it’s a good chunk out of that $1600. We will see though.

I feel that. I was thinking about going through SoCal for some interior carbon as well.

I just purchased the alcantara e-brake from Mr. Kim as well. Figured it would match my alcantara armrest nicely and break up some of the hard plastic look on the interior.

On another note, it’s not an interior piece, but I also picked up the carbon fiber fuel door from him as well, it just looks so good in pictures. Mr. Kim is awesome and gave me a great deal, I highly recommend buying from him! He’s a really cool dude and it’s great supporting his effort to get these awesome OEM parts stateside!

Just got my center console in the mail today. My car is currently at the dealership getting some work done otherwise I’d already be installing this but I figured I’d post some pics of what it looks like.

Notice the blue stitching detail that matches the seat and steering wheel stitching. Part came in OEM packaging. Can’t wait to put this in when I get my Veloster back!
Stoked to get the e-brake and fuel door now too.

looks great I can’t wait to get mine. Is it any more padded/softer then the stock? Or does it seem to have the same padding underneath and just a softer cover?

It’s noticeably more plush than the original console and there is a thicker, softer cushion beneath the alcantara. The alcantara fabric is also, of course, softer and comfier than the material used for the original console and feels better on the skin.

How much did you end up paying for the armrest?

I think I paid $140 all said and done. I also ordered the alcantara e-brake but it’s still shipping from Korea. That one I paid $150 for. I just picked up my car from the dealership today and put in the armrest. It’s noticeably more comfortable!

Let me know how you did the e-brake. I also purchased the alcantara bits from Mr Kim. Am excited for them to get here. Cheers!

Yeah I’ll let you know how that goes, I haven’t even really sussed it out yet, but I did see that my package arrived at LAX today so not too much longer. I’ll let you know how it all goes!
Probably picking up some new wheels tomorrow so I’ve got to get those on too.
