So as you guys may know already I had a pin break which connects the electronic waste gate actuator to the waste gate flapper in the manifold. (Bad luck) but I also decided to remove the under tray on the car and I found what I believe to be stress cracks on the transaxle case. First I thought it May be from a dirty mold When casting but I’m here to see what you guys think. The link are going to be from my YouTube account excuse the language. And not trying to bash Hyundai. I loved this car but I want everyone to be aware.

More so Aluminum casting marks. They aren't going to cause an issue. Casting dies develop this after a period of time and use as noted above. Unless they're polished or brushed out they will be always be noticable.

I think what you’ll find is that these marks are caused by heat checking of the casting die and is normal. The cast aluminum part simply picks up the mirror image of the die surface small cracks. I suppose the die will be replaced if it gets bad enough to cause a resulting part structural integrity issue.

Thanks for the positive feedback and information. I’ve learned a lot on this forum about this car and not to mention other processes it took to make this car. I work in the food industry turning sugar beets in to sugar(mechanic). I’ve seen a lot on the job and I can understand what it takes to produce quality work. Still not done leaning. Once again thanks for the feedback and information. Taking it to the bank 🏦
