I lost boost driving back home from the filling up the tank, noticed a loss of psi but I didn’t think much of it. Went to warm up the car in the morning and the check engine turned on. I turned it off and turned it back on after a while and drove about one block and the light was still on then I noticed I wasn’t building no more than 3psi of boost. Got home and inspected the car, I was thinking maybe a loose hose clamp on the intercooler piping. I was wrong. The electronic waste gate actuator has a connecting rod which connects to the waste gate flapper on the inside, its held on by a pin which has a snap ring on the top side. Well that pin snapped off. I called Hyundai roadside and had the car towed to the dealer. Dropped it off around 1pm didn’t hear anything back from them so hopefully tomorrow they let me know what up. I will keep you guys posted. Couldn’t really get a picture of it but here is a quick video of the problem

If the wastegate isn't operating, you're not going to build any boost. If by chance the replacement does solve the issue, have them reflash the OEM ECU software. This is a known issue.

Talked to Hyundai today. They said the turbo is no good. They ordered one yesterday and will be here in 3 days.. I’ll look for the search bar next time. I was simply posting because it was an issue I had. But my car should be up and running soon. Thanks

They wouldn't know if was a bad turbo or not. Hyundai dealers service have no way of testing one. They're just replacing parts, as usual.
