Hyundai‘s new hot hatch made its first appearance at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show.
The entire Veloster lineup bowed in Detroit, with the standard model, Veloster Turbo, and high-performance Veloster N making a statement at the Cobo Center. Sporting an all-new design, the Veloster does retain its asymmetrical two-plus-one configuration, keeping it unique within the segment. Under the hood of the standard model is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle engine sporting 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, while the Veloster Turbo gets its motivation from a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque.
